The Best of Top of the Pops '80
The Best of Top of the Pops '80 is a 1980 compilation album released by the Top of the Poppers, who were well-known for their cover-versions of popular songs during the 1970s. While many earlier Top of the Poppers albums had sold well, by the time The Best Of Top Of The Pops '80 was released, sales of the albums had been declining. Although never critically acclaimed during their heyday, by this point even fans of the series were complaining about what they considered to be falling quality. Today, the reputation of this album has not improved, and Allmusic reviewer Dave Thompson, who has praised many other Top of the Poppers albums, gave a scathing review of the album. However, the album is considered collectable by some due to its rarity.
